Among the first seating to be mass-produced, Michael Thonet's steam-bent wood chair quickly became an icon, surrounding cafĂ© tables all over 19th-century Paris and inspiring a host of variations. This interpretation echoes the sculptural open loops of the steam-bent classics in carved and dovetailed oak – a handcrafted homage to the mass-produced original.

In early 1700s England, the Windsor chair was a staple of country inns, where it was used for relaxed indoor and outdoor dining. Before long, this emblem of hospitality made its way to America, where master carpenters refined the lines. This solid oak chair reproduces that early 19th-century American style, with a timeless hoop-back, saddle seat and hand-turned spindles and legs joined by 3 stretchers.

Sculptural in form, this bent plywood chair was inspired by mid-century Danish design. Rich weathered and painted finishes lend it modern warmth, contrasted with classic chrome-finished tubular legs.
