friday diy: home banner

BOOOO!

happy halloween everyone! hope you have some fun plans tonight, i am so excited to take nixon out for his first "real" trick or treating experience. last year he was only 5 months old so he was pretty much asleep the whole night. he is going to be a monkey, makes the sound and all! so it's pretty dang cute. if you follow me on IG i might post a pic or two.

today i saw this super cute + pretty easy tutorial from the girls over at best on the block blog. if you haven't heard of them yet-- they share the cutest home ideas, fashion/makeup trends + some diy's as well. i loved this diy idea they posted on making a banner for your home.

i love how customizeable(is that a word?) it is + can find a place in virtually any spot in your home.
so cute right?

here are the supplies you will need:
felt, felt + more felt (this is used for the letters + the banner itself)
dowel
scissors
tacky glue
freezer paper
iron
string
needle

what would your banner say + where would you hang it?

have a super fun + fun halloween weekend!! xo

friday diy: $5 ikat sheet curtains

happy friday babes!

today i found this awesome curtain diy from one of my favorite blogs i follow--- classy clutter!

if you have some plain white curtains lying around then you are set to go--- if not, don't go spend $30 buying white ones, buy a twin sheet from walmart + make 2 curtain panels out of it (tutorial also from classy clutter)

$5 is a lot better than finding some even from target that are going to be around $50-- plus you can totally customize the color scheme + pattern, although i love this ikat pattern!

here's what you'll need:
curtains (or a twin size flat sheet)
painters tape
latex paint in whatever color/s you wish

check out the full tutorial by mallory HERE

i love this so much! such a fun project + pretty dang easy,
what do you think? will you be making these any time soon?

have a fabulous weekend, xo

decorating for fall

happy monday babes!!

hope you all had a lovely weekend, it was seriously PERFECT weather this entire weekend-- we tried to spend every moment we could outside and it was fabulous.

today i am talking about decorating your home for fall. the good thing is that you can decorate now and it will last through thanksgiving[with a few minor changes specific to halloween or thanksgiving].

i found some beautiful fall spaces to give you some inspiration for your own home, i love the uniqueness of each space + how you can see it's not too hard to add in a little fall without changing your entire home!
