friday diy: tree stump table

yahooooooo friday's here. finally.
as i was thinking of something to find for today's diy post i stumbled across this lovely home space and realized---- i NEED that tree stump side table

in case you are willing to spend the $200+ don't have a crafty bone in your body and want to just buy the stump you can! HERE from west elm + HERE from restoration hardware + HERE from crate + barrel

for those of us pinching pennies-- i looked a round a bit more and found this awesome diy tutorial from sugar + cloth blog. she bought her stump off craig's list for $15 and then she decided to ombre gold the bottom--- super cute idea.

i really really love the idea of cutomizing this wood however it fits your home. i love the raw wood look if you were to just sand down some rough parts + paint a sealant on the whole thing and leave as is! another idea would be to whitewash the wood like this---

going back to sugar and cloth click HERE for her full tutorial, she explains how she got that awesome stump looking so awesome

these are the material she explained you will need:

wooden stump (she bought hers off craigslist)
sand paper
spray polyurethane - in matte finish
scrub brush
gold paint (if you want ombre-- or any color if you want to colorblock)

happy creating friends!! see you back monday
xo
